Airdrops of crypto assets (virtual currency) for owners of Solana Mobile’s Saga smartphone are being carried out one after another.
Access Protocol announced on X (formerly Twitter) that all owners of Saga will be given 100,000 ACS, equivalent to $250 (approximately 36,250 yen, equivalent to 145 yen to the dollar). Previously struggling Saga unexpectedly sold out last week after the meme coin BONK airdrop, and this exclusive airdrop trend will continue.
Following last week’s active BONK rally, it became a hot topic that if you purchase Saga, you will receive enough BONK to cover the $600 purchase price. This led to a rush of purchases and Saga was sold out.
Since then, BONK has fallen by more than 30%, making the 30 million BONK value received for a single Saga unit lower than the base price, but there has been an increase in projects within the Solana ecosystem doing their own airdrops.
Access Protocol’s ACS token is a form of payment that holders can use to gain access to a wide range of crypto-themed content. Content creators promote newsletters, AI-generated animations, headline feeds, and more on Access Protocol’s website, where holders can “stake” ACS.
Holders can also sell ACS. At the time of writing this article on the 19th, the trading volume of ACS in the decentralized finance (DeFi) market was $16 million (approximately 2.32 billion yen), and there was significant selling pressure. Although trading volume reached an all-time high, ACS fell 6% as Saga owners started selling airdropped ACS.
Checking ownership of Saga’s Genesis NFTs, which are required to receive airdrops, reveals that fewer than 3,500 are fully online compared to Saga’s 20,000. This means that many Saga owners have not yet set up a wallet and will not be able to receive or sell airdrops.
