Adrian Grenier remains bullish on crypto, says it can repair broken systems

Adrian Grenier, who is currently the UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador, has reiterated his bullishness about the cryptocurrency sector. Grenier has been a long-time supporter of the crypto space, and he has previously said that cryptocurrencies can replace fiat currencies such as USD.

Grenier remains bullish on crypto

In a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, Grenier defended Bitcoin mining activities that have often been attacked over high energy usage. He noted that the benefits provided by crypto outweighed the costs.

Last year, Grenier held an interview with CNBC where he said that fiat currencies such as the USD could be replaced by Bitcoin (BTC/USD). The actor, who has since quit Hollywood, said he was not a cryptocurrency expert, but he was learning about the cryptocurrency sector.

“You’re going to see the adoption rate increase exponentially over time, but you’re also seeing Bitcoin as future dollars, as opposed to Bitcoin. Where we need to get to philosophically is that it’s not going to eventually become dollars, it’s just going to be Bitcoin,” he said at the time.

Grenier focuses on space tourism

Besides showing support for the cryptocurrency sector, Grenier is also focusing on space tourism. The actor partnered with World View as the company expands into space tourism and exploration.

Grenier said that the company would engage in stratospheric flights to view the different wonders of the world, such as the Giza Pyramids, the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef. The ticket for these events will cost 50,000, and this is notably cheaper than other space tourism tickets such as the Jeff Bezos Blue Origin, valued at $250,000.

Ryan Hartman, the President and CEO of World View, commented on this development, saying,

It’s most important to understand that the experience itself is 6 to 8 hours long, so it’s going to allow our customers to truly take in the beauty of the Earth, the fragility of the earth and see it as a living organism and as something bigger than themselves.

The commercial operations for this project will begin in 2024, while the first human flight will be conducted towards the end of 2023.
