App Store removes multiple crypto trading apps including Binance and KuCoin in India

“Order to show reasons” for 9 apps

Apple removed trading apps from its app store in India days after the Indian government sent show-cause notices to nine exchanges for non-compliance.

The affected companies are Binance, KuCoin, Huobi, Kraken, Gate.io, Bittrex, Bitstamp, MEXC Global, and Bitfinex, which are no longer available for download from app stores in India.

The background to this is that on December 28, India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) sent an “order to show cause” to the nine exchanges mentioned above regarding non-compliance with anti-money laundering measures. Initially, we attempted to block the exchange URL, but it appears that it is still accessible.

It has also been removed from the Apple App Store, but it is still listed on Google’s Play Store.
