Astar Network adopts bonus rewards for staking with the introduction of dApp Staking v3

Astar Network plans to introduce “dApp Staking v3'' on the 13th, which will affect the utility of the crypto asset (virtual currency) Aster (ASTR). This update aims to expand the network by encouraging active ecosystem engagement by token holders and encouraging the development and use of dApps.

v3 brings important changes to the reward allocation for the protocol and the staking process for users. A new rewards system will allow you to earn bonus rewards through active participation.

On the other hand, dApps deployed within the Astar ecosystem are classified into different tiers, and each tier has a maximum reward limit. This mechanism was designed to allow early-stage dApps to enjoy a level playing field without having to compete directly with established, large-scale applications.

4 month staking span

In the v3 update, the staking period will be set approximately every four months, and will consist of two “sub-periods”: the “voting stage” and the “build & earn stage”. Users will receive bonus rewards by staking during the voting stage and maintaining the staking amount until the end of the build & earn stage.

Additionally, at the turn of each four-month period, the tokens that users had staked in the past will be released. Users who wish to continue receiving rewards should be especially careful as they will need to set up staking again.

The portal site will display a countdown at the start of a new period or sub-period and transparently announce all updates. In this way, investors are encouraged to actively engage with Astar Network, as they can earn bonus rewards only through more active engagement.

This V3 update is based on feedback from the Astar network community and aims to provide more detailed information and enhanced support. It is seen as an important step toward accelerating the development and use of dApps on the Astar network and expanding the adoption of Web3 in the real world.

dApp Staking v3 is also planned to be applied to dApps deployed on AstarzkEVM, scheduled for release in late February.
