Astar Network is one of the early winners of Polkadot parachain auctions, collecting more than 10 million DOTs during the auction period. Polkadot conducted parachain auctions from November 2021 to February 2022, which sought to connect a limited number of blockchains to its relay chain. Winners were selected based on how much investment they have raised in a given period.

Doublejump.tokyo, meanwhile, is a company established in 2018 that has worked with several gaming companies and IP holders, including My Crypto Heroes, Tezuka Productions, and more. Per the terms of the deal, the game developer will also operate a validator for Astar Network to allow for geographical distribution and security of the network.

Sota Watanabe, CEO of Astar’s parent company Stake Technologies, said in a statement:

“After a long practical conversation, both of us agreed that Astar is one of the best platforms to build NFT use cases. Double jump.tokyo and their partners own a lot of great IPs like Anime and Manga. We are very much looking forward to building these use cases on the top of Astar Network.”
