Authtrail announces KILT integration to improve transparency

Authtrail and BTE (B.T.E. BOTLabs Trusted Entity GmbH), a KILT Protocol app developer, will integrate KILT DIDs into the Authtrail platform to improve data flow transparency and trustworthiness, Invezz learned from a press release.

Authtrail is a complete SaaS platform supplying enterprise data with blockchain-based integrity. It is powered by Moonbeam, which is part of the Polkadot (DOT/USD) ecosystem like KILT.

Integration will cover DIDs and verifiable credentials

Digital identities comprised of Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and verifiable credentials using KILT will be integrated into the data sources Authtrail works with. This will ensure data provenance throughout the enterprise value chain.

Building on KILT brings trust to the digital world

Typically, centralized organizations manage and monetize personal data such as passports, driver’s licenses, certificates, and more. KILT, a decentralized blockchain protocol that issues revocable, verifiable, and anonymous DIDs and credentials for Web3, helps create a framework for self-sovereign online identities, thereby bringing trust to the digital world.

KILT can be used to create credentials and identifiers for humans, services, machines, IoT use cases, and more. Authtrail CEO Matjaž Sobočan said:

We are excited to work with BTE to integrate DIDs using KILT Protocol. By employing DIDsign, we can procure more value for enterprise customers who want to innovate their identity systems without compromising the security of personal or organizational data in their environment.

Ingo Rübe, founder of KILT Protocol and BTE CEO, added:

Both Authtrail and KILT Protocol are bringing Web3 solutions to enterprises and end-users that will drive blockchain adoption in the real world. Collaborating with Authtrail, an expert in enterprise data management, will drive higher trust at a lower cost deeper into organizations.

Additional level of data traceability

KILT Protocol’s juxtaposition of real-life ID credentials onto the digital world offers Authtrail an additional level of data traceability. Authtrail’s enterprise clients’ organizations, systems, and employees could benefit from DIDs.

The Authtrail app would create these via DIDsign, an app BTE built on KILT. This will make it easier to onboard enterprises because the end user doesn’t need any knowledge of blockchain or DIDs.

With DIDsign, one can link a hash for the data with a DID to form a signature. The KILT blockchain would store only the DID on-chain, not the signature.
