Gree and gumi participate

Ava Labs, which develops high-speed blockchain Avalanche, announced on the 10th that it has launched a Web3 game construction support program “Avalanche Arcad3” with early partners such as Japanese social game giant Gree and gumi.

Arcad3 aims to help traditional Web2 game companies to enter the new Web3 gaming space. Participating companies will get advice on Web3 gaming issues such as blockchain technology implementation, marketing and tokenomics.

In addition, you can receive extensive support for business development, such as networking with companies specializing in the cryptocurrency market, formulation of marketing strategies, and support for fundraising.

Arcad3’s role is to bring Web2 publishers together with major studios, guilds and other groups working to build Web3, as well as 10+ gaming subnets and 100+ Web3 games, creating the future of on-chain gaming. Connect with the Ava Labs team.

Ed Chang, Head of Game Division at Ava Labs, said the following about the motivation behind the launch of Arcad3.

Some of the big Web2 studios that got into Web3 early are facing ongoing difficulties. They may not understand how to talk about their community, blockchain, or the Web3 space they are trying to enter.

Comment from Mr. Eiji Araki of Glee

It is also important to note that Arcad3 is not limited to Avalanche, but also has a view to building Web3 games that span blockchains compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).

Arcad3’s Web3 partners include game developers such as Shrapnel, DeFi Kingdoms and Gunz, as well as gaming platform Blitz provided by esports organization TSM. Marketplace 2dao3, investment platform Republic Crypto, and Avalanche are also participating in the program.

Regarding the Arcad3 program, Eiji Araki, director of GREE and general manager of the Metaverse business division, said:

Glee has always focused on the future of gaming. That’s why I’m excited to join Ava Lab’s Arcad3 program as a way to stay ahead of the curve in Web3 games and build relationships with studios experimenting and building in this industry.

Having an experienced Web3 partner, Ava Labs, and a program called Arcad3 that allows us to work together on an open-ended level, is invaluable to building great Web3 gaming experiences.

Gree announced a partnership with Ava Labs in October 2022. Through the newly established subsidiary “BLRD”, we will operate Avalanche’s validator (node) and own the crypto asset (virtual currency) Avalanche (AVAX).

Currently, Gree is developing its first Web3 game, Project Incursion. Araki added, “We expect it to be a groundbreaking title that combines our many years of mobile game development experience with the new elements of Web3.” No details about the game have been released yet.
