Avalanche partners with South Korea’s SK Planet to build Web3 ecosystem

Layer 1 blockchain company Avalanche announced on April 6 that it will launch an Avalanche subnet in an exclusive partnership with SK Planet, a subsidiary of South Korean telecom giant SK Telecom.

The subnet will be named UPTN and will serve as a Web3 portal for SK Planet users. Existing existing users serving over 100 million users, including OK Cashbag, the largest loyalty program platform in South Korea with over 24 million users, serving as the foundation for cryptocurrency wallets, NFTs and decentralized communities. It will be integrated into SK products.

“We see this new partnership between Abarabo, Avalanche Foundation and SK Planet as a great opportunity not only to meet Korea’s tremendous demand for Web3 experiences, but also to expand the possibilities of e-commerce in the 21st century.” Emin Gün Sirer, CEO of Ava Labs, said in a release.
