“KINGSHIP Islands” featuring avatars from the NFT (non-fungible token) collection BAYC (Bored Ape Yacht Club) has been launched on major gaming platform Roblox.

KINGSHIP Islands is a PRG game that offers an immersive experience. The setting is that the player crash lands on a paradise island and embarks on an adventure to unite the missing band members of KINGSHIP.

Roblox users can play for free starting December 1st. Players will be able to earn free in-game items and avatar emotes every week for six weeks after the game’s launch.

Users can also purchase animated heads and bodies customized for their avatars using Roblox’s facial animation technology.

In addition, owners of the KINGSHIP Key Card NFT will receive a special Roblox badge as a bonus, giving them access to a floating villa on the island. Users who do not own it must complete the quest.

What is KINGSHIP?

KINGSHIP is a virtual band launched in November 2021 by the label “10:22PM” of the major American music company Universal Music Group (UMG). The band consists of four members, all made up of characters from Bored Apes.

UMG purchased “Bored Ape NFT#5537” in February 2021 for 125 ETH (market price 43 million yen). Furthermore, in March 2022, he announced plans to buy more BAYC NFTs and use them commercially as the band manager “Noët All.”

In May of the same year, they announced the release of 10,000 KINGSHIP Key Card NFTs, an NFT pass that allows access to KINGSHIP content, products, and exclusive experiences. According to music media Billborad, all batches were sold out in one day.

In February of this year, it announced the launch of a playlist that can be listened to on Spotify exclusively for Key Card NFT holders.

According to UMG, “supergroup” KINGSHIP’s music is produced by Grammy Award winners Hit-Boy and James Fauntleroy.
