Expected to start after June this year

Sakura Exchange Bitcoin Co., Ltd. (SEBC) announced on the 28th that it plans to launch a new service “Binance JAPAN (tentative name)” after June 23.

Details including the start time will be announced later.

The personal information registered when opening an SEBC account will not be carried over, and it is necessary to perform KYC (identity confirmation) again.

Binance is the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. In November 2010, SEBC announced the transfer of all shares to Binance (AP) Holdings Limited, an affiliated company of Binance CEO Changpong Zhao, and a transition to a new management structure.

As a result, the original Binance was unable to open a new account for Japanese residents.

In order to provide services as a crypto asset (virtual currency) exchange, it is essential to obtain approval and business registration from the Financial Services Agency, and there is a possibility that the service start schedule will be delayed. In addition, attention will be paid to whether Binance’s main stocks that are not listed in Japan, such as BNB, will be whitelisted in the future.

Brokerage service ended

The brokerage service currently provided by SEBC for domestic exchanges will end on May 31, 2011. Since the account can no longer be used, we are requesting the sale of crypto assets (virtual currency) and the withdrawal of Japanese yen for the assets held in the account by the deadline for order application.
