The upcoming Bitcoin halving
There are 100 days left until the scheduled halving of the virtual currency Bitcoin (BTC).
According to OKLink’s calculations, Bitcoin’s fourth halving is scheduled to occur on April 23rd, with 14,477 blocks remaining.
Bitcoin halving occurs approximately every four years, or every 210,000 blocks, and the reduction in mining rewards could slow down the pace of BTC issuance and encourage an increase in asset value. At the next Bitcoin halving, the fourth time, the mining reward will be reduced from the current 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC.
Companies such as VanEck and Matrixport (see link below) predict that the halving event will be the catalyst for a significant rise in the price of Bitcoin.
