Bitstamp, a known cryptocurrency exchange, has announced that it will permanently suspend the trading of seven altcoins for its US-based clients as of August 29, 2023. The affected assets include Axie Infinity, Chiliz, Decentraland, Polygon, NEAR Protocol, The Sandbox, and Solana. Bitstamp did not provide any reasons for the move, but the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s classification of all the tokens as unregistered securities could be a factor. Bitstamp, which is headquartered in Luxembourg, has pushed roughly $175 million in volume over the past 24 hours.
