Bitwage, a global leader in facilitating Bitcoin, crypto, and stablecoin payrolls, has announced its partnership with top Bitcoin and crypto wallets Casa and Edge.

There has been a paradigm shift in how businesses and companies make payments to their employees. A good number of companies are now issuing payments in the form of Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and stablecoins. This shift has been a significant boost, especially to the remote workers especially since cryptocurrencies were thrust into the limelight in 2020.

Some of the benefits that crypto payrolls bring to major corporations and governments are that they are able to quickly acquire and retain talent going by the high crypto opt-in rates among millennials and generation z. Crypto payrolls also have a low-cost benefit since they have resulted in reduced overhead costs for HR organizations.

Bitwage has been appreciated by enterprises and governments for offering a solution for depositing paychecks directly into employees’ wallets without the enterprises and governments having to create an account with the individual wallets. However, there has been an issue with onboarding crypto beginners and that is one of the main reasons why Bitwage partnered with Casa and Edge wallets.

The CEO of Bitwage, Jonathan Chester, commenting on the role that the two wallets will play said:

“Education is a very important part of the Bitwage experience, and part of this experience is helping our users understand wallets while teaching them how to be their own bank. Edge and Casa are two of the best and most secure wallets on the market. Our partnership with these wallets is just the beginning of our journey to educate millions of workers around the world about bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and stablecoins and what it means to get paid in these currencies.”

Casa and Edge wallets

With the Bitwage partnership with Casa and Edge wallets, which are two of the most secure crypto wallets, beginner users will be able to easily download their first own crypto wallets and connect them to Bitwage.

Previously, users had to submit their wallet addresses in order to receive payments in crypto on Bitwage. However, the process is now more streamlined and in partnership with Edge and Casa, Bitwage guides new users on how to generate a new wallet from either Casa or Edge and then link it back to the Bitwage platform either through a QR code or a deep link without having to manually generate and submit a public key, which would be tough for a beginner.

Employers can therefore now onboard their employees with ease since they will not be asked to supply the public addresses of individual employees. Once the employers onboard their employees, all they have to do is choose the cryptocurrency they wish to make payments to and select which wallet to use between Casa and Edge.

Commenting on the new partnership, the CEO and Co-Founder of Edge Wallet, Paul Puey, said:

“Our collaboration with Bitwage on creating and deploying the Request for Address protocol represents our laser focus on making crypto easy and seamless to end users. Finally, users can eliminate the need to copy and paste addresses between apps and websites when needing to request crypto into their wallet.”

On his part, the VP of Product & Design at Casa, Christian Wallin, said:

“Casa self-custody is digital freedom in your pocket and this partnership with Bitwage gives us the opportunity to enable that for many more people. We’re excited about this seamless integration making it simpler and safer for Bitwage users to hold the keys to their bitcoin, which protects them against many of the custodial security risks we’ve seen highlighted in our industry this year.”
