Carbon Based Lifeforms, a new Scottish game development studio, has launched Hyperspace, a space-themed MMO (massively multiplayer online) sandbox game, Invezz learned from a press release. The chain-agnostic, tokenless game lets players choose their own path and style of play, craft unique in-game items to sell to others, and more.
Overcoming common challenges in gaming
Players usually have to pay a subscription or upfront fee to earn and trade in-game assets and currencies or barter outside the game for crypto. Those who can’t afford to have no access to traditional pay-to-win or pay-to-play type games. This makes it hard for new players and creators to enter the market.
Hyperspace takes the diametrically opposite approach, allowing users to play and earn for free regardless of skill level and financial situation. Another distinctive feature of this metaverse game is that it is chain agnostic and doesn’t have a native token.
A vibrant, positive aesthetic
Set in a colorful, vibrant, positive environment, Hyperspace’s unique IP transports players to a breathtaking universe with thousands of star systems, a myriad of territories, and four galactic currencies.
This gives them endless opportunities. They can choose between eight races to create their character. Each race has its own extensive history and culture within a much greater galaxy.
Players can also carry out activities with classes such as Explorer, Hunter, Trader, and Gatherer. This enables them to tailor their experience depending on their style of play.
Technology runs on Metanomic, a tokenless engine
The game’s technology runs on Metanomic, a tokenless economic engine. It is intuitive and facilitates the creation of virtual, gaming, and metaverse projects. Developers can create a fully configurable and scalable play-and-earn economy that features fully balanced player markets and asset creation engines.
Theo Priestley, CEO of Metanomic and founder of Carbon Based Lifeforms, said:
Metanomic is a sophisticated but easy-to-use platform that has the ability to grasp simple and complex game economies in real-time using robust algorithms designed by professional economists. With true web3 interoperability, it drives in-game and player-driven economies, like Hyperspace, to player-owned marketplaces that are protected from inflation and outside speculation, thus protecting players and their value from volatile fluctuations.
