Coincheck, a crypto asset exchange, announced on July 24 that it will start handling Polygon (MATIC) in August 2023. Instead of handling MATIC on the Ethereum network, it will handle MATIC of native tokens on the Polygon chain.
Polygon is an Ethereum second-layer solution that can process 65,000 transactions per second and has been adopted in various projects because of its low transaction costs. MATIC is a token used to pay network fees on Polygon and contribute to maintaining the network through staking. There are two types: Ethereum-based and Polygon-based.
