Cryptocurrency platform Crypto.com confirmed its financial support for one of the “most prestigious tournaments in the world”: the 2022 FIFA World Cup games in Qatar.

Crypto.com named an official sponsor

Crypto.com will be the exclusive cryptocurrency trading platform sponsor of Qatar 2022, the company said in a press release. The sponsorship deal will see Crypto.com gain branding and exposure within the stadium and surrounding areas.

The latest sponsorship deal marks a continuation of Crypto.com’s push into global sports. Some of the more notable existing sponsorship deals include the naming rights for the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Crypto.com Arena.

Other deals include branding rights at the Bell Centre, home to the NHL’s iconic Montreal Canadiens. Notable football club Paris Saint-Germain also named Crypto.com as its first official cryptocurrency platform partner.

Crypto.com considers itself a leader in cryptocurrency adoption with a customer base of more than 10 million global customers and 4,000 employees worldwide.

Crypto.com CEO: ‘could not be more excited’

Commenting on the sponsorship deal, Kris Marszalek, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Crypto.com said:

“We could not be more excited to sponsor the FIFA World Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, and to drive further awareness of Crypto.com globally. Through our partnership with FIFA, we continue to use our platform in innovative ways so that Crypto.com can power the future of world-class sports and fan experiences around the world.”

“Crypto.com has already demonstrated a commitment to supporting top-tier teams and leagues, major events and iconic venues across the world, and there is no platform bigger, or with a greater reach and cultural impact, than FIFA’s global platform of football,” said Kay Madati, FIFA’s Chief Commercial Officer.

The FIFA World Cup Qatar will start November 21 and will see France defend its title against the world’s most elite teams.
