FIFA has just onboarded its exclusive cryptocurrency trading platform sponsor for the Qatar World Cup 2022.
Popular cryptocurrency platform Crypto.com has signed another major sports sponsorship deal, nabbing the popular football organization FIFA for its World Cup 2022. One of the most-watched championship events, FIFA is set to take place between 21 November to 18 December in Qatar this year.
“We could not be more excited to sponsor the FIFA World Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, and to drive further awareness of Crypto.com globally,” said Kris Marszalek, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Crypto.com in a press release. He added:
“Through our partnership with FIFA, we continue to use our platform in innovative ways so that Crypto.com can power the future of world-class sports and fan experiences around the world.”
Crypto.com seeks to benefit from the exposure provided by the sporting event with the logo being widely displayed around the stadium and the broadcasting view. The platform will also provide opportunities for its users to attend matches or win exclusive merchandise. Meanwhile, Crypto.com has not revealed the financial terms of the deal.
The FIFA sponsorship is the latest addition to Crypto.com’s sports strategic deals. The crypto exchange was one of the few cryptocurrency advertisers at the NFL Super Bowl championship game. In November 2021, it also acquired the naming rights of the NBA home stadium ‘Staples Center’ in a $700 million deal.
According to the company’s press release, Crypto.com has more than 10 million customers and over 4,000 employees worldwide.
