Donated 1 million yen to relief funds

Alchemy Pay, a crypto asset (virtual currency) and cash exchange app, donated 1 million yen to the Ishikawa prefectural government to support victims of the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2020. Donated jointly with Oak Grove Ventures.

In addition, Alchemy Pay will provide its “On & Off-Ramp” service, which handles both crypto assets and fiat currencies, free of charge to charities aiming to support disaster victims.

This donation was made through Hokkoku Bank, Ltd., which is officially recognized as an overseas remittance route, based on information posted on the government’s official website. This effort is recorded on the donation page of Ishikawa Prefecture’s official website.

These actions demonstrate the company’s sincere hope for the early recovery and reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas. Alchemy Pay acts as a bridge between traditional fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies.

With a mission to accelerate the adoption of cryptocurrencies in a variety of real-world scenarios, we also take real-world issues seriously. We are committed to providing practical support to affected individuals and communities through our active involvement in philanthropy and giving.

This is not the first time the Web3 community has come together to support disaster-stricken areas. After the conflict in Ukraine, many crypto companies and organizations have made donations, and charities are actively accepting donations in these cryptocurrencies.

The Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2020 had a seismic intensity of 7 and a magnitude of 7.6, causing secondary disasters such as landslides, aftershocks, and fires. The disaster caused widespread building collapse and infrastructure destruction, leaving more than 200 people dead and more than 560 confirmed injured.
