Eminem and Snoop Dogg to Perform on a ‘Metaverse’ Stage

After launching a video that features imagery from the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, Eminem and Snoop Dogg will perform their single ‘From the D 2 the LBC’ in a stage transformed to resemble the Otherside metaverse.

The performance will take place as part of MTV’s Music Video Awards this Sunday. In addition, MTV has added a new awards category for the best metaverse performance. Other nominees include Twenty One Pilots, Justin Bieber, and Rift Tour ft. Ariana Grande.

Last year, the awards show saw an eight consecutive year of declining viewership ratings, so MTV might be hoping to change this by adopting the increasingly popular metaverse.

As for the Otherside, the future seems to be bright. According to CryptoSlam, the virtual world reached more than $1 billion in NFT sales so far, with one plot selling for a whopping 333.33 ETH (or some $565,000) four months ago.
