Emphasis on gaming experience
zVentures is Razer’s venture capital arm that strategically invests in early-stage startups. Razer explained the focus of the zVentures Web3 Incubator (ZW3I) funding:
The selection process for identifying promising Web3 games and partners prioritizes game quality. The focus is on backing proven game companies that have already embraced blockchain and have successfully entered the Web3 ecosystem.
Razer also noted that many of the blockchain games on the market today focus on integrating blockchain technology into their games rather than improving the gameplay experience. As a result, it is assumed that users tend to be difficult to take root.
Lawrence Lin, Director of Blockchain at Razer, also speaks to this point:
The most important factor in successfully launching a game is the “game experience”.
With blockchain technology and the backing of gaming-savvy companies, Web3 will revolutionize the gaming experience for everyone.
Support through partnerships, etc.
Game companies selected for ZW3I funding can take advantage of Razer’s Marketing Partnership Assistance Program. You can also take advantage of Razer’s ecosystem of hardware, software and services.
Razer’s partner companies include Web3 giant Animoka Brands, Amazon Web Services, 1Up Ventures, Griffin Gaming Partners, and Play Ventures Future Fund. It is a way to receive support in obtaining opportunities to form partnerships with these companies.
Another example of Razer’s ecosystem is Razer Cortex, which can optimize and launch games.
Razer Cortex has a function that allows users to play games and earn “Razer Silver”. “Razer Silver” can be exchanged for points that can be used to purchase products provided by Razer and other companies.
