Former US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement chief John Reed Stark has criticized Binance’s suspension of fiat withdrawals for Euro area customers, calling it “disturbing.” Stark has called on the SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) to send a team of auditors, inspectors, and examiners to investigate what happened. Binance has suspended Euro withdrawals and deposits via SEPA and doesn’t have a specific time frame for SEPA transfers. The exchange has asked for the CFTC lawsuit to be dismissed, arguing that the regulator lacks jurisdiction.
