Exactly Protocol, a DeFi project offering interest rate markets on the Optimism Layer 2 network, has suffered a security breach resulting in estimated losses of $7.3m. Security firms detected the exploit, which was triggered by a vulnerability in the protocol’s smart contracts, although the details of the hack are yet to be revealed. Prior to the breach, Exactly Protocol had more than $36m in total value locked, but this figure has fallen to below $26m.
