Flare API on Google Cloud Marketplace

Layer 1 blockchain “Flare Network”, which specializes in interoperability, announced on the 3rd that support for “Flare API Portal” has started on Google Cloud Marketplace.

As a result, developers using the Google Cloud Marketplace can easily access blockchain data from Flare nodes and Connected Chain nodes, and data necessary for developing dApps (decentralized apps) (account balances, smart contracts, etc.) status, etc.) can be retrieved quickly.

In the Google Cloud Marketplace, not only nodes, but also a centralized building environment such as databases and development tools can be easily used. Regarding Flare API Portal support, James Tromans, Head of Web3 Engineering at Google Cloud, said:

We are excited to support and advance the ambitions of our Web3 partners in our ecosystem by integrating Flare’s high-performance APIs into our Marketplace.

Google Cloud Marketplace supports nine blockchain APIs, including Flare, and the specific lineup is as follows.

  • Algorand (ALGO)
  • BNB chain (BNB)
  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Dogecoin (DOGE)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Flare (FLR)
  • Litecoin (LTC)
  • Songbird (SGB)
  • XRP Ledger (XRP)

Flare Network was planning to partner with Google Cloud in November 2022 to integrate the Flare API Portal and related services into Google Cloud’s marketplace. All future blockchain APIs added to Flare’s API portal will also be made available to Google Cloud developers.

What is the Flare API Portal?

The Flare API Portal provides a centralized interface to collectively access Flare Chains and Chains “Connected Chain nodes” that are connected by their own State Connectors. This allows developers to efficiently develop cross-chain applications without having to access individual APIs or nodes.

With the Flare API Portal, you can use nodes that access Flare’s network, such as Flare and Songbird, as well as Bitcoin and XRPL (Ledger). This will make it easier for developers to share data and develop applications across different blockchain networks.

What is a State Connector?

State Connector is a consensus mechanism that verifies the legitimacy of external networks in the Flare network. This confirms the correctness of actions taken on the external network and provides information to Flare Network smart contracts. This feature will make it easier to share data and develop applications across different blockchain networks.
