French apparel brand Lacoste has launched an NFTs collection duped UNDW3 (pronounced “underwater”) despite the current bloodbath within the general crypto market. Lacoste said that the collection is aimed at building an online community and engaging with customers.
The NFTs collection comes a week after Lacoste launched a Discord server where more than 30,000 people subscribe in two days.
The collection shall have 11,212 NFTs based on a signature polo shirt called L1212 and shall be sold for 0.08 ETH.
UNDW3 project
In a press release, Lacoste stated that the UNDW3 project shall allow the NFTs collectors access to a “long-term collaborative community”
The press release read:
“Collectors will be able to access a pioneering ecosystem and digital, physical, and experiential benefits in the world of the crocodile, such as co-created products exclusively for them.”
UNDW3 is not Lacoste’s first interaction with the crypto world. It has previously collaborated with the popular game Minecraft.
Growing crypto and Web3 interest among fashion brands
Fashion brands across the globe have continued to experiment in Web3 and crypto projects despite the current plunge across the crypto market that has affected even the floor prices of some of the most popular NFT projects including Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT.
Last week Farfetch, a fashion company, announced that it had started accepting crypto payments, a move that comes after other fashion like Tag Heuer, Off White, and Gucci also announced accepting crypto payments.
