Gala Games Launches Public Playtests for Two Games

Playtest conducted with 2 titles

Gala Games, which is working on developing a blockchain game ecosystem, is conducting public playtests on two titles.

One is a 4X turn-based RPG, “Eternal Paradox”, which is being held for the first time for two weeks from March 15 (Japan time).

The other is the survival MMOPRG “The Walking Dead: Empires”, which will start playtesting on March 21 (Japan time) and will also be held for two weeks.

Gala Games has developed many “blockchain games you want to play”, including the popular P&E game “Townstar”. (Currently 16 titles) Gala Games’ decentralized ecosystem is supported by nodes operated by over 16,000 players, who control the ecosystem, including ownership of in-game items and the right to influence roadmap development. We aim to build a mechanism for players to regain the right to play.

What is Eternal Paradox?

Eternal Paradox is a hybrid 4X/RPG developed by NTROi-participating NDREAM, which worked on “Great Voyage War: Ocean & Empire”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Genesis Battle”, “Crossfire: Warzone”, etc. At the same time as creating a mercenary group and fighting in a turn-based RPG, it also combines elements of 4X games such as building and developing your own territory and castle and preparing for battle.

The game uses a season system, and a large-scale battle will be held at the end of each season.

Eternal Paradox NFTs will be implemented with in-game lands and heroes, and land NFTs have been on sale at the Gala Games store since June last year as land deeds (land deeds). Purchased land deeds can be exchanged on the Gala Games platform for specially created land plots (land parcels) with coordinate locations of land on the map.

Eternal Paradox is a multi-platform game available on TestFlight on PC, Android and iOS. TestFlight is an application for sharing and checking the operation of iOS applications only with limited members.

To celebrate the first playtest of Eternal Paradox, there will be a ranking competition in four categories, including Combat Power and Challenge Mode.

Players who rank high in each category will receive game currency “Gem” equivalent to a total of 660,000 yen ($5,000) at the time of game launch.

What is The Walking Dead: Empire

“Walking Dead: Empire” (TWDE) is a survival MMORPG (massively multiplayer online RPG) based on the popular TV drama “The Walking Dead” broadcasted by AMC. Developed by Ember Entertainment under license from AMC and first revealed at the Galaverse event in December 2021.

The central theme of the game is “construction, combat, and monetization”, and players can secure their own land, gather materials to build a base, and repel walkers (zombie) to generate revenue. Possible.

You can also earn rewards by other players buying and selling items and fighting on the land, and you can further develop the territory.

TWDE NFTs include in-game land ownership (land NFTs), characters (hero NFTs), and crafting stations that produce tools and supplies. You can play the game for free without purchasing NFTs, but NFTs are useful for efficiently leveling up.

As an NFT other than the above, Gala Games launched the VOX version of NFT characters (limited to 8,888) at TWDE in March last year. VOX is a series of pixel art 3D avatars developed on the Ethereum blockchain. This NFT character can also be used as an item with utility (practicality) that gives a buff to the character.

Content that can be experienced in a playtest

TWDE playtests are compatible with PC and Mac, but not mobile.

This playtest is bigger and more dangerous than the last one (August last year). For example, the playable zones have doubled from 9 to 81, and the map includes all land rarities. There is also a battleground where PvP (person-to-person) is possible. Rewards are also higher in PvP zones.

There are more walker variations, more unique and more dangerous walkers, and walkers can form groups, similar to the TV series.

Players can form or join alliances of up to 20 people.

Heroes, lands, and crafting station NFTs are available for this playtest. If you don’t own a Hero NFT, choose one of the five TWDE original characters to play. Please note that VOX NFTs cannot be used in playtests.

The official release of TWDE is scheduled for the second half of 2023, but NFT is on sale.
