Guest introduction

The 18th GM Radio will be streamed on Monday, April 3rd at 21:00 on the CP_Global Twitter space. This time we have invited Max Lomuscio, head of marketing at Connext, and Francesco Renzi, co-founder of Superfluid, as our guests.

Connext also participated in the 5th Annual GM Radio. The company is involved in the development of a protocol called “Connext”, which is the same as the company name, and is working to realize interoperability of different blockchains in the Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem with this protocol.

The company aims to “make blockchain app users unaware of which blockchain they are using and how to transfer assets to different blockchains.”

The goal is to create an environment where YouTube users don’t have to be aware of the underlying blockchain, just as YouTube users don’t have to be aware of Google’s distributed database.

In July 2021, Connext attracted attention by raising $12 million (approximately ¥1.5 billion at the current exchange rate) from 82 investors. Funds, cryptocurrency exchanges, staking providers, L2 founders, ecosystem projects and angel investors have invested in the funding.

About Superfluid

Similarly, Superfluid developed a protocol called “Superfluid”, which is the same as the company name. Superfluid is a protocol for the smooth transmission of money and assets.

This protocol is useful for cases that require regular remittances, such as salaries and flat-rate services. For example, the company is developing a solution called Payroll for paying salaries, which allows you to pay multiple employees in one transaction.

Once you set the amount, etc., basically all a payee needs to do is keep enough money in one wallet. Starting, ending, and changing payments can each be done in a single transaction, minimizing gas costs.

Since the protocol runs on Ethereum’s virtual machine (EVM), the official website also describes it as “Superfluid is a smart contract framework for EVM.”

In July 2021, the company announced that it had raised $9 million (approximately ¥1.2 billion at the current rate) in a seed round. He explained that the funds would be used for things like “building a real-time financial economy.”

Multicoin Capital, Delphi Digital, DeFiance Capital, former Coinbase Chief Technology Officer Balaji Srinivasan and Aave founder Stani Kulechov participated in the funding.

The theme of this distribution is “payment by the second”. We will be interviewing guests, focusing on questions about Superfluid, who will be joining GM Radio for the first time.
