Contribute to Flare’s mission
On the 15th, the Flare blockchain project for data announced that Google Cloud will become Flare’s validator.
In addition to participating in the network as a validator, Google Cloud will also serve as Flare’s infrastructure provider. Google Cloud will now contribute to Flare’s mission of “providing high-quality access to decentralized data to apps on Flare and other chains.”

Specifically, Google Cloud will be participating as an infrastructure provider in the operation of Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO). FTSO is an oracle native to Flare that is used to obtain time-series data such as crypto asset (virtual currency) prices.
What is oracle?
A blockchain oracle is a service or entity that provides data outside the network. Oracle’s representative project is Chainlink (LINK).

According to the announcement, there are 100 organizations involved in both network and FTSO operations. These organizations, such as Google Cloud, contribute to the security of the network as validators and to Flare’s network as oracles.
Flair’s team will continue to improve the utility of blockchain by inviting Google Cloud to join the network and providing decentralized data to developers to further expand blockchain adoption. .
The head of Google Cloud’s Web3 division commented as follows.
Providing access to large-scale data is critical to the increasing number of blockchain use cases and the global spread of the technology.
Google Cloud will join the network and contribute to Flare’s mission.
Following this announcement, the price of Flare’s virtual currency FLR soared. According to CoinGecko data, at the time of writing this article, the stock is up over 32% from the previous day.

Cooperation between the two companies
In this announcement, Flair also explained that it is participating in Google’s Startup Cloud program. The program aims to accelerate the growth of Web3 startups. Flare developers will receive financial and technical support from Google Cloud and partners.
As an example of the efforts of both companies, in May of last year, Flare announced that support for the Flare API Portal was started on the Google Cloud Marketplace.
This allows developers using Google Cloud Marketplace to quickly obtain the data they need to develop decentralized apps.
