Google Bard release plan
On the 6th, Google announced the development plan of interactive AI (artificial intelligence) language model “Bard”. Bard will be released to testers soon and will be available to the general public in the coming weeks following feedback.
According to a report by UBS, an investment strategy firm, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Bard’s competitor, surpassed 100 million monthly active users in January, growing at the fastest pace since the end of November last year.
Microsoft, which invests in OpenAI, has revealed a policy to incorporate AI technology into its own search engine “Bing”, and China’s major search engine Baidu also plans to release an AI service similar to ChatGPT in March. Google, a major search engine, aims to accelerate the commercialization of research projects that it has been developing for some time.
Trends in the AI field are currently attracting a lot of attention from crypto asset (virtual currency) investors. There is also a tendency for speculative buying to gather in AI-related tokens.

Bard, developed by Google, is said to reflect the latest information publicly available on the Internet (ChatGPT is based on 2021 information). Google CEO Sundar Pichai said:
Bard can be used to simplify complex topics, such as explaining new discoveries from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (which began full operation in July 2022) to a 9-year-old.
Pichai also said he plans to build AI capabilities into Google’s search engine in the future. He said he also plans to synthesize complex search material (queries) such as “Which is easier to learn, guitar or piano?”
Google is hosting an event on February 8th about how to “search, map, and access information beyond” in a more natural and intuitive way. It’s unclear if AI development or Bard’s details will be mentioned, but it’s arousing interest.

Google announced a partnership with US AI startup Anthropic last weekend. Anthropic is a company launched by the development members of the language model “GPT-3”, which is the basis of ChatGPT developed by Microsoft-funded OpenAI.
According to the Financial Times, Google has invested about $300-400 million in Anthropic. Anthropic has selected Google Cloud as its preferred cloud provider to provide the computing power it needs to build “trusted AI systems.”
