The hype is real! In anticipation of Ethereum’s much-publicized Merge event, which will most likely go through between September 13 and 15, Google has updated its search engine visuals to reflect the upcoming transition.
Namely, Google users who search for the Ethereum Merge are now greeted with a clock counting down the remaining time until the Merge is completed. Other info on the Google search page includes Ethereum’s current difficulty, hash rate, and merge difficulty.
There’s also a symbolic image of two bears rushing to each other with outstretched arms. After the transition, the bears will merge into a panda – mascot for the Ethereum event.
This easter egg was proposed by Google’s employees working in its Web3 team. The fact that it was implemented suggests that even giants such as Google are recognizing the importance of this high-profile event for both Ethereum and the crypto space.
