Grayscale Investments CEO Michael Sonnenshein has called the recent deluge of filings for a spot Bitcoin ETF a “moment of validation” for the cryptocurrency asset class. At least seven major institutional firms, including BlackRock, have pointed out the product in the US, giving investors a simpler route to take for bitcoin price exposure without holding it. Sonnenshein said BlackRock’s commitment to advancing its crypto efforts only lent credibility to the staying ability of the asset class. Currently, Grayscale offers US investors a roundabout means of gaining exposure to Bitcoin via its Grayscale Bitcoin Trust.
