Gree announced on June 22 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding on a strategic partnership with Mysten Labs, the developer of the Layer1 blockchain “Sui”. Through his subsidiary BLRD, he will start validation of the Layer1 blockchain “Sui”, and will proceed with efforts to develop Web3 games on Sui that utilize Japanese IP.
Mysten Labs, founded in 2021 by former executives of Meta’s (formerly Facebook’s) blockchain research and development organization, independently designed and developed Sui, a proof-of-stake blockchain.
Eiji Araki, Senior Executive Officer and President of BLRD, said, “By combining Mysten Labs’ overwhelming knowledge in the Web3 area with our experience in the entertainment area, we will create completely new entertainment that has never existed before. We aim to deliver it all over the world,” he commented.
