Leading auction house Christie’s has partnered with Italian luxury fashion brand Gucci to sell digital art NFT collection “Future Frequencies: Exploring Generative Art and Fashion” in an auction format. .

AI artists participate

The collection includes works by artificial intelligence (AI) artist Claire Silver, generative artist Emily Xie, distributed and autonomous AI artist Botto, and others21 NFTs included. The auction will take place from July 18th to 25th on Christie’s digital art platform “Christie’s 3.0”.

The NFT collection will draw inspiration from Gucci’s textiles and color palette, as well as the ‘Bamboo 1947’ collection of iconic handbag series featuring Gucci’s signature bamboo handles. It employs generative systems such as algorithms and AI, and aims to expand creativity by fusing art, fashion, and technology.

Aiming to utilize Web3 technology

Christie’s digital art sales manager Sebastian Sanchez told CoinDesk that the partnership will encourage both artists and the fashion industry to take advantage of Web3 technology.

“My goal with this auction is to show the intersection, which is now a spectrum,” Sanchez said. There are so many, and some people are actually making 3D clothes, and what we’re presenting is all over that range.”

Sanchez explained that partnering with Gucci makes the collection particularly inspiring, inviting both art collectors and fashion lovers to explore the interwoven art.

“It’s clear that the Gucci name has a lot of power and it has its own fans, and they’re probably very different from ours,” Sanchez said. “That’s the beauty of our partnership. I think there is: Christie’s is the art expert, Gucci is the fashion expert, and we’re kind of in the middle.”

Claire Silver exhibits two items

Anonymous NFT artist Claire Silver, who recently started a solo exhibition at the New York gallery of the NFT marketplace SuperRare, has two works in the collection.

“AI, 3D, film and advanced mathematical functions are combined with antique paintings and tapestries from China, Japan, Eastern and Western Europe, both of which are intended to celebrate the age of AI,” said Silver. The experience of being made, the innocent joy of the new, the depth of cultural heritage, the light of the future.”
