Gummi and other Sui blockchain-based wallets lead 540 million yen fundraising

gumi’s cryptocurrency VC “gumi Cryptos Capital” and Boldstart Ventures led the seed round of Sui blockchain-based wallet “Ethos Wallet”. The amount raised was 540 million yen ($4.2 million).

In addition to gumi Cryptos Capital and Boldstart Ventures, Tribe Capital, Matrix Port, AllianceDAO and Mysten Labs (developer of Sui) also participated in the round.

Ethos Wallet CEO Evan Cheng was the head of research for Meta’s former blockchain wallet business Novi. Sui and Aptos are blockchains based on the MOVE language developed by Meta and feature high scalability. Sui has yet to launch a mainnet and he just launched the second testnet yesterday. Meanwhile, Aptos was officially launched last October.

In addition to consumer wallets, Ethos Wallet is also working on a blockchain game, Sui 1892. Ethos Wallet is now live on Sui’s developer net.
