Hakuhodo Keithley’s 1st Web3 Hackathon

Hakuhodo Keithley Co., Ltd. announced on the 1st that the first web3 global hackathon will be held from February 14th (Tuesday) to March 25th (Saturday), 2023.

The web3 global hackathon is characterized by corporate tie-ups held with sponsor companies. This time, with the support of Toyota Motor Corporation, the theme is “Development of DAO support tools for corporate projects.”

Hakuhodo Keithley is a joint venture between Hakuhodo and Stake Technologies, which develops the public blockchain “Astar Network (ASTR)” from Japan. We aim to develop new services through the web3 hackathon to spread the next-generation Internet “web3 (decentralized)” that utilizes blockchain and other distributed technologies.

Toyota is also famous for creating work efficiency methods such as KAIZEN, JUST IN TIME, and KANBAN. Therefore, the theme of the first web3 hackathon is “development of DAO support tools for corporate projects”.

What are DAOs

A DAO (Distributed Autonomous Organization) is an organization that operates and manages projects transparently by setting its own rules with the smart contract (automation of contracts) function deployed on the blockchain. Anyone can participate via the Internet, and holders of tokens used in DAO can also participate in decision-making.

In recent years, the workload of managers, such as business decision-making and management of team members, has been increasing. The web3 hackathon aims to develop a DAO support tool as a solution based on these issues.

If team members can work autonomously and distribute decision-making through DAO, it will not only reduce the burden on managers, but also have the advantage of leading to organizational growth.
