On April 11, HashPort, in cooperation with SMBC Group and its consolidated subsidiary Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, will conduct Japan’s first demonstration experiment on internal community formation using non-transferable NFT (Soulbound Token, SBT). Announced.

SBT is issued as a token that represents an individual’s career and action history, and the wallet in which SBT is stored is called “soul” because it shows the owner’s appearance. The purpose of this experiment is to verify technical matters related to the issuance and holding of SBT, and to accumulate know-how regarding community formation starting from SBT.

Participants in the first phase are employees of the SMBC Group, and an SBT that proves that they are employees on the blockchain provided by the HashPort Group, and a fungible called “Midolipo” that is distributed among the experiment participants. Tokens (FT) will be distributed.

Participants will be able to send Midlipo to express their gratitude to members who have made statements or actions that contribute to the community within the community formed within SMBC Group’s in-house chat tool. Participants who have more than a certain number of Midripo at the end of the experiment will be given benefits.

After completing the first phase, the company plans to conduct further experiments with the participation of other companies.
