Canada’s Hut 8 Mining said in May that its Drumheller, Alberta mining facility was operating at 15% of its set hashrate due to an electrical issue and was expected to be back up in 10 to 12 weeks. announced on the 9th.

CoinDesk reached out to Hut 8 for additional information about the Drumheller mining facility but did not receive a response.

The Drumheller mining facility is expected to account for 0.9 exahash/second (EH/s) of Hut 8’s computing power. The combined install hashrate for the two Alberta sites was 2.6EH/s at the end of April. The company’s Medicine Hat facility in the state said it had “an all-time high occupancy rate” of 1.72 EH/s in March.

Hut 8 also had to shut down its third site in North Bay, Ontario, and move 7,000 employees to Medicine Hat in mid-November due to a dispute with a power company. . To date, Hut 8 has not found a way to resume operations at the facility.
