Indian gaming startup nCore Games bags $10M in latest funding round

Indian gaming firm nCore Games has netted approximately $10 million in its Series A funding round led by Galaxy Interactive and Animoca Brands. With fresh capital raised, the company plans to expand its offering in the metaverse and NFT space, TechCrunch reported Monday.

Apart from Galaxy Interactive, the VC arm of Galaxy Digital, and Animoca Brands, Polygon, Hyperedge Capital, as well as a slew of angel investors, including ex-Google executive Amit Singhal, Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, Ram Madhvani, Rakesh Kaul, Mannan Adenwala, Sanjay Narang, Peter Leung, Yashraj Akashi, and Akshay Chaturvedi, also contributed in the investments raised.

The gaming and entertainment startup currently has two mobile games, namely, FAU:G and Pro Cricket Mobile, along with gaming studios such as Studio nCore, Dot9 Games, and IceSpice. nCore’s gaming studio IceSpice currently offers developer tools to offer virtual currency, ecommerce store, and esports layer in their products.

“At IceSpice we are building tools to help game developers keep gaming communities engaged with innovative use of technologies. With the help of global leaders in technology investments, we are set to create new benchmarks in gaming with our Virtual Currencies, NFTs and gaming merchandise for gamers” said IceSpice CEO Tejraj Parab.
