Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) does not consider itself to be a crypto-friendly bank and said it would invest in the crypto-asset space over time, according to the first announcement made on April 18. said in its quarterly earnings call.

“As we have said before, it will be a long time before we get to broader digital and crypto assets,” said CEO Robin Vince.

When asked if BNY Mellon would be an attractive place to deposit crypto assets, Vince disagreed. Vince noted that while some companies have made “a lot of cash” by getting into the cryptocurrency business, BNY Mellon has no plans to follow suit.

“We have a variety of clients,” said Vince.
