Lee Bok-hyun, director of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), said the company plans to continue discussions with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), with the focus on Bitcoin spot ETFs (exchange traded funds). . Hankyoung.com reported on February 5th.

“I met with SEC Chairman Gary Gensler[this year]. There are areas to focus on, including crypto assets and Bitcoin spot ETFs,” Lee told reporters.

In December, it was reported that Lee was scheduled to meet for the first time with Gensler to discuss crypto regulation. The FSS said at the time that the January talks were aimed at coordinating schedules and strengthening “cooperation between the two institutions.”

In the United States, the SEC approved Bitcoin spot ETFs in January. Regulators around the world are questioning whether they should do the same.
