Mixi Becomes Oasys Validator

It was revealed on the 7th that MIXI Co., Ltd. will participate as a validator for “Oasys”, a game-specific blockchain developed in Japan.

MIXI will not only operate the network of Oasys, an application game development company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, but will also seek collaboration, including the development of game content.

Oasys is a blockchain project specializing in games with the concept of “Blockchain for Games”. By providing a platform where game developers can create their own tokens and trade them with players, we aim to move in-game economic activities onto the blockchain.

The 21 initial validators that operate the Oasys chain consisted of major domestic game companies such as Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco Labs, and GREE, as well as Web3-related companies such as bitFlyer and Astar.

In addition to the 21 companies, Nexon, KDDI, Softbank, and MIXI have been added as the second group validators, and a total of 25 companies are participating as Oasys validators. Validators, who operate the Oasys chain, verify transactions on the blockchain and play an important role in ensuring safe and accurate transactions.

Oasys adopts the PoS (Proof of Stake) method, which is environmentally friendly, for the consensus building algorithm, and eliminates the transaction fee (gas fee) for game players, which has been a major issue so far, and speeds up transaction processing.
