Proof signs agency deal with UTA
Proof, the startup behind the major Ethereum-based NFT collection Moonbirds, has signed a deal with United Talent Agency (UTA), it was revealed on the 6th.
UTA is one of the big four Hollywood agencies. While NFT market volume has calmed down over the past year, UTA remains committed to the Web3 industry. The company will support Proof to further expand its reach.

Proof was founded by Kevin Rose, an early investor in Meta (formerly Facebook). Proof’s PFP (profile image) NFT series “Moonbirds” consists of 10,000 owls with different rarities and personalities.
On Twitter, Rose suggested that the company was in talks to secure a key partnership.
Focus on partnerships to scale Moonbirds well beyond its existing Web3 audience and transform it into a global brand.
Proof raised $50 million in a Series A investment round led by prominent venture capital firm a16z in the summer of 2022. In September 2010, handling of Moonbird began on Coincheck’s NFT (non-fungible token) marketplace “Coincheck NFT”.

What is UTA
Celebrity Talent Management Operator provides a total management service including licensing, portfolio, PR, digital presence and media exposure by signing agent contracts with talents related to various fields of arts, sports and business.
According to Market Reports, the global market size for talent management is expected to reach $2.084 billion by 2027, up from $15.167 billion in 2021.
Founded in 1991, UTA has over 1,400 staff and recorded a corporate valuation of $750 million (approximately ¥100 billion) in 2018. Rose added that in negotiations with multiple agencies, UTA was “clearly in a unique position to push our brand into new markets.”
UTA has set up three Web divisions from an early stage and has won management contracts with talent. The portfolio includes NFTs by 18-year-old NFT artist Diana Sinclair, as well as notable NFT collections CryptPunks and Deadfellaz. UTA will manage media exposure for Rose and Proof’s Web3 business.
According to data site CoinGecko, the floor price (bottom) of Moonbirds has risen 30% in Ethereum (ETH) terms to 10.1 ETH over the past week. Weekly trading volume was 598 ETH (100 million yen), up 160% from the previous week.
Kevin Rose is also known as a serial entrepreneur, having helped found social news site Digg, as well as Revision3, Pownce and Milk. He is also a partner at True Ventures. Officially, the investment portfolio includes projects such as Art Blocks (generative art NFT), Blue Bottle (beverage), Medium (media), Ripple (international remittance) and Solana (L1 chain).
