Despite the recent indictments, former US President Trump has not slowed down his Web3 ambitions. On April 18, Trump announced the launch of “Series 2” of his NFT collection, “Trump Digital Trading Cards.”

Mr Trump said on his social network Truth Social that he would expand the collection with a series 2, following “Great Success”.

NFTs will be issued on the Polygon blockchain and will be priced at $99, the same price as the first series. But Series 2 has 47,000 NFT cards, 2,000 more than the first series. It may represent Trump’s ambitions to return to the White House as the next president.

According to the website, no more than 10 NFTs have the same characteristics. Collectors who purchase 47 copies can attend a dinner with Mr. Trump in Florida. Collectors who buy 100 copies will get a piece of Trump-themed art in addition to the dinner.

Following the series 2 news, the floor price of the first collection on NFT marketplace OpenSea has halved from about 0.4 ETH (about $840, about 113,000 yen) to 0.2 ETH. .

Trump unveiled his first NFT collection in December 2022, which sold out within hours. Trump earned between $100,000 and $1 million from the collection, according to government ethics office filings.

In April, news of the arrests caused prices of the first collection to rise on the secondary market.
