Newly listed on Korean Bithumb including Web3 game “Big Time”

BIGTIME and others enter the Korean market

On the 30th, Bithumb, a major Korean crypto asset (virtual currency) exchange, announced the new handling of ERC-20 standard tokens “Big Time (BIGTIME)” and StormX (STMX).

BIGTIME was listed on Coinbase in the US and offshore exchanges OKX and Bitget in October, with a market capitalization of 7.9 billion yen and trading volume of around 8 billion yen (according to CoinMarketCap).

Bithumb is launching a Korean won trading pair for BIGTIME and STMX tokens at noon today. According to research firm Kaiko, Bithumb is the second largest exchange in terms of virtual currency trading volume in South Korea, with a market share of just under 20% in the country.

South Korea has historically been known for its high level of cryptocurrency speculation, and in past bull markets there was a “kimchi premium,” where asset prices were higher than in other countries’ markets. According to September 2023 data from South Korea’s National Tax Service, taxpayers who filed taxes this year own a total of 131 trillion won (14.5 trillion yen) worth of virtual currency overseas.
