Japan Blockchain Platform, which operates and manages the public blockchain “Japan Open Chain” consortium, announced on March 27 that NTT Communications has participated as a validator (joint operator). In addition, it is said that one other company has decided to participate.

Japan Open Chain is a public blockchain that is fully compatible with Ethereum and operated by a Japanese company in compliance with Japanese law. Earlier this month, three domestic banks announced that they had started demonstration experiments for issuing stablecoins on Japan Open Chain.

Sony group startups Kogia, Dentsu, GUTechnologies, Minna no Bank, Pixiv, and Kyoto University of the Arts are already participating as validators. Ultimately, 21 companies are expected to become validators, including NTT Communication, which was announced to participate this time.
