First case as third group validator

Game-specific blockchain Oasys announced on the 23rd that NTT DoCoMo’s subsidiary New Territory Planning Preparation Co., Ltd. will participate as a new validator (verification node).

Docomo has announced a new initiative for Web3 (distributed web) in its financial results announcement for the second quarter of 2022, and as part of this, it has been decided to participate in Oasys Validator of New Territory Planning Preparation Co., Ltd. Oasys and New Territory Planning Preparation Co., Ltd. have announced that they will be collaborating on Web3-related services in the future.

Oasys is developing a game-specific blockchain under the motto “Blockchain for Games”. As a feature, it adopts the PoS (Proof of Stake) method, a consensus building algorithm that considers the environment. In addition, we aim to achieve faster transaction processing by eliminating transaction fees (gas) that game players have faced.

A validator is a node that connects to a blockchain network and plays a role in confirming that transactions on the chain are correct. At Oasys, these validator participating companies play an important role in promoting the research and development of next-generation Web3 games.

Oasys has gradually expanded the number of participating validator companies so far with the aim of stabilizing the network and expanding the ecosystem. The 21 validators that have participated since its inception include major domestic game companies such as Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco Labs, and GREE, as well as Web3-related companies such as bitFlyer and Astar.

After that, Softbank, KDDI, Nexon, and MIXI joined as second group validators. And this time, New Territory Planning Preparation Co., Ltd. will be the first company as a third group validator.
