Following Twitter, NSFW online subscription platform OnlyFans has now revealed a new feature that lets its creators display verified Ethereum NFTs as profile pictures, Reuters reported Friday.
According to the latest reports, the company first introduced the feature in December last year. With the latest offering, OnlyFans has joined several other social media platforms that look to integrate NFTs and metaverse features into their offerings.
The feature currently only supports NFTs minted on the Ethereum blockchain, adding an Ethereum icon next to the NFT profile picture to verify its authenticity and ownership. Similar to Twitter’s feature, users can learn more information about the NFT after tapping on the profile picture.
“Our mission is to empower creators to own their full potential,” OnlyFans CEO Ami Gan told Reuters. “This feature is the first step in exploring the role that NFTs can play on our platform.”
Launched in 2016 in London, OnlyFans is an adult content subscription service where creators can earn money by selling their content to users who subscribe to their content.
