Ethereum (ETH) L2 network Optimism announced on the 21st the implementation of its fourth large-scale airdrop (free distribution).

This airdrop is targeted at Web3 artists and creators who use Optimism, and will award a total of 10,343,757.81 OP tokens (approximately $41 million) by February 13, 2025.

As a condition of acquisition, an artist who created an NFT on Ethereum's mainnet or Optimism's superchain (a series of interconnected OP infrastructure layer 2) between January 10, 2023 and January 10, 2024 (approximately 2.2 10,000 addresses) will be eligible for airdrop.

Airdrops are given to NFT creators based on the amount of gas consumed by other users who mint or trade their NFTs, meaning the more popular the NFT, the more rewards NFT creators receive. I was able to get

Optimism will conduct its first airdrop as a token release in May 2022. Airdrops were also conducted in February 2023 and September of the same year. Additionally, 560 million OP tokens are also available for future airdrops.
