Pixelverse, the creator of the popular PixelTap mini-game, has launched the closed beta of its highly anticipated MMORPG web browser game, marking a significant milestone in web3 gaming.

This release is the first project to implement TON microtransactions outside of Telegram, linking Pixelverse’s large Telegram user base to an expanded gaming experience beyond the platform.

Pixelverse integrates TON microtransactions in browser gaming

The beta release introduces a seamless connection between Pixelverse’s 10 million monthly active Telegram users and a new web3 gaming experience through their browser game.

This marks the first time that TON microtransactions have been utilized on a platform outside of Telegram, enhancing user experience by allowing players to make in-game purchases directly in the browser.

Since its launch, PixelTap has become one of the top mini-games on Telegram, leveraging its integration with the TON blockchain.

In August, Pixelverse launched the largest profile picture (PFP) NFT collection on TON, attracting over 234,000 investors.

Its subsequent Bots NFT collection garnered an additional 40,000 investors, further solidifying its position in the web3 space.

Pixelverse NFTs offer tangible and monetary value

PixelTap NFTs serve a purpose beyond digital collectibles.

They provide unique benefits within the Pixelverse ecosystem, including revenue sharing, access to exclusive quests, enhanced character customization, and early access to future game content.

Players can enjoy tier-based rewards that grow in value as the Pixelverse ecosystem expands.

The new browser game introduces players to Neopolis City, a vast cyberpunk environment filled with quests, rare item collection opportunities, and an open economy that reflects player actions.

This immersive world is a testament to the potential of web3, where players’ decisions impact the game’s economy and environment.

Pixelverse CEO outlines the future of web3 gaming

Kirill, CEO of Pixelverse, highlighted the game’s expansion beyond Telegram, saying,

We are leveraging our massive user base on Telegram to expand organically beyond the platform. Many Telegram mini-game users have discovered crypto through these mini-apps, and now we’re offering them a richer, more complex gaming experience.

The closed beta is now open to early supporters, providing them with a preview of the game and an opportunity to offer feedback.

The public release is scheduled for Q4 2024, further cementing Pixelverse’s role in pushing the boundaries of web3 gaming.
