One of Polkadot’s ($DOT) largest communities is suspending its operations after a failed proposal bid. Some analysts say it could affect Polkadot’s market prospects, which were already bearish. $DOT enthusiasts are now turning to Borroe.Finance ($ROE) because it offers a clearer path to high returns. $ROE is generating attention for its fast market growth, but will it become one of the best new ICOs?
Polkadot ($DOT) Stirs Controversy as PolkaWorld Set to Shut Down
On September 15, 2023, one of Polkadot’s largest communities, PolkaWorld, announced that it would suspend operations. The announcement came after Polkadot’s ($DOT) governance team turned down PolkaWorld’s major proposals.
PolkaWorld is one of the longest-running communities on Polkadot ($DOT). For the first time in four years, its proposal funding request was turned down by Polkadot.
More precisely, PolkaWorld had complained that they were the unfortunate victims of a new upgrade to Polkadot’s governance system. The upgrade moved Polkadot’s governance to a system where every token holder would vote on each proposal.
This exit comes as $DOT struggles with high volatility due to the current bearish climate. $DOT was trading at $4.21 on September 1. By September 15, $DOT fell by 1.6% to $4.14 after the suspension of PolkaWorld operations.
Some analysts predicted Polkadot would be affected by the loss of the community. $DOT has now fallen by 6.4% to $3.86. If $DOT keeps dropping, Polkadot might lose its place as one of the top DeFi projects.
