Kojo Marfo, a renowned Ghanaian artist, has announced the launch of a non-fungible token (NFT) collection. This NFT collection will be minted in April 2022, and it will be an extension of the work ethic of Marfo and highlight societal changes.
This NFT collection will be launched in partnership with JD Malat Gallery. JD Malat Gallery is a London-based company launched in 2017. The company works with established and emerging global artists, providing them with a rapidly changing space.
Kojo Marfo launches an NFT collection
The Marfo NFT collection will feature similar elements like Pablo Picasso, masks and other artefacts. The artist believes that art boosts communication and allows people to tap into new ideas and explore creativity.
According to Marfo, NFTs are a way to reach new people, whether through investments or by focusing on the art world. NFTs bridge the real and digital worlds, allowing artists to access the right communication channels.
The NFT collection will signify these strong links between the real world and the virtual world. The NFT collection has been created using 250 features offered using an algorithm that generates unique NFTs. The NFT collection has been inspired by past experiences and the Ghanaian origins of Marfo.
Part of the proceeds generated from the sale of this NFT will go towards a charity of choice. The funds will go towards helping vulnerable children and people.
Partnership with JD Malat Gallery
Marfo’s NFT collection will be launched through a partnership with the JD Malat Gallery. The gallery enabled more than 1000 artists in the UK to display their art, and the pieces created by Marfo received much praise. The Marfo NFTs will be exclusive to the JD Malat Gallery, but they will also be available to a global audience.
By launching these NFTs, Marfo wants to set the precedence for the current and future collectors of his artwork. Given his reputation in the art world, the NFTs are expected to see heightened demand. They will highlight the journey that the artist has taken.
